From Williams Elementary: We had a great turnout for our first week "Run Through Michigan." Many students completed the "Traverse City" challenge and received their postcard today! This week: we are heading across the lower peninsula to visit Tawas City on Lake Huron. Tawas City has one of the largest harbors on Lake Huron. Thank you to all the cities who donated the postcards for each of our cities! We appreciate your support of our new program. #puremichigan #tawascity #lakehuron

From Williams Elementary School: This morning we had a special visitor Zoom with Mrs. Snyder's 3rd grade class for WORLD READ ALOUD DAY! Sandra Markle reached out to Mrs. Snyder and asked if she could read to her class. She read parts of her book WHAT IF YOU COULD SNIFF LIKE A SHARK? (See picture). After reading she spent a few minutes answering questions. Sandra Markle was a teacher, she was Ms. Whiz demonstrating science on local television in Georgia, and she has worked with CNN, PBS, and even Nickelodeon. This is a once in a lifetime experience for them as 3rd graders and Sandra told them that they were the ONLY class that she was reading to today.
