Over the course of the last month, 5th grade students have been working hard at school learning about the four major regions of Native Americans in the United States. Students then took all their new knowledge and select their favorite Native American region to create a diorama at home. The diorama included the housing, food, environment, etc. for their selected region. Students had to write a paragraph about their region to present along with their diorama. This 5th-grade group did a wonderful job on their projects. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

As you know, we ran an athletic facility bond over the summer and it was defeated. The vote was very close but it’s important to understand why people voted the way they did whether it was yes or no. The survey is on our main page at Jonesvilleschools.org.
The survey is anonymous. We are just looking for insight from our community. If you’ve already taken the survey there is no need to take it again. We appreciate your help with this! Go Comets!

Friendly reminder to take our survey on the athletic bond. The link is in the email sent from Sunday night. It’s very quick and provides us with useful information as we decide how to proceed. Thank you to all of our Comet families who have already completed the survey!

Thanks Nate Baker for providing a fun experience. So many kids have never been on a Hayride. Now they have!

Williams Elementary would like to give a big shout out to Cindy Means and Walmart. Cindy and Walmart helped cover all the cost of the pumpkins for our students to do the Carving. We appreciate you! Our Community is the best! Nothing better than people helping people.

Our office staff decided to dress up as Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. The kids got a big kick out of it today.

Mrs. Barrett's class won a Fall Hayride. Thanks Mr. Nate Baker for coming to give them this experience. They loved it!

These students won a classroom PBIS experience. They had a blast carving pumpkins and decorating the front of our school.

This Kindergartener decided to dress up as me today. I told him he to take over all my responsibilities. He said he would try!

Our Williams staff would like to give a big shout out and thank you to John Zinser and Alyssa Allwardt from our PTA. They set up an amazing Apple Bar with all the goodies for our staff today. We appreciate you greatly!

From Williams Elementary School:
Mrs. Snyder’s class studied traits on one character across multiple books. The students then created a poster on their specific character. Some characters include Gerald from and Piggy from Elephant & Piggy, Amelia Bedelia, Sam from Eerie Elementary and Clifford.

From Williams Elementary School:
Students from Mrs. Yeo's 4th grade classroom and Mr. Anderson's 5th grade classroom each earned the opportunity to play dodgeball as part of our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Acknowledgements.
It looked like the students had a great time!

Comet families! As you know, students are required to wear masks on school buses as they are deemed public transportation. We have been providing masks for our students who have forgotten their’s but it really should be in case of an emergency. In the last two weeks, we have gone through over a thousand masks which is more than we did since the beginning of the school year. Please make sure your student has a mask so we are only handing them out in case of emergencies. Thank you

Jonesville is now paying substitute teachers $100 a day! We are in need of guest teachers at all grade levels. Come be a part of Comet pride!

Williams Elementary School is pleased to share their 3rd-5th grade September Students of the Month.
Congratulations to these students for being selected for showing perseverance!
