Nathan Winn was selected as the Michigan 5th district winner of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition. This is a great opportunity to showcase student art at a national level. Nathan Winn, has been selected as Congressman Walberg’s first-place winner in the 2024 Art Competition. As a result, his art will be on display, for one year, in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol building. Nathan also has won the opportunity to fly to DC to participate in the reception for winners from across the country. His piece, Messenger to Dragon Palace, features a turtle viewed from the top, casting a shadow to the bottom right of the page. The piece is pen and ink on paper.

“CREATE” Community Wind Chime Garden A Creative Collaboration “CREATE” - to cause to come into existence; bring into being; make; originate; esp., to make or design something requiring art, skill, invention, etc. Jonesville High School Advanced Art Class collaborated to create an amazing sculpture. The plaster hand sculptures spell out the theme using American Sign Language to fingerspell the word CREATE. Each artist applied their own creativity to design a wind chime with unique materials that tells a story visually and also uses motion and sound. The artists then solved together how to construct and display with balance, repetition, and thought given to all of the organizational principles of design and elements of art. Thank you to County National Bank for this opportunity and support of the arts and our artists. Artists: Regan Frederick Jenna Hadley Trinity Johnson Ava Kramer Jonah Vanderhoff Esther Yokell
