In August of 2021, JCS Food Service Director Mrs. Lucinda Phelps applied for a grant from the Michigan Department of Education Child Nutrition Program Emergency Operating Cost Reimbursement.  The grant application was accepted and Jonesville Community Schools received funds in the amount of $37,716.95.  With the funds from this grant, the food service department purchased a new walk in cooler/freezer unit for Jonesville Middle School.  This new unit replaced a very old existing unit.  The remaining monies will be used for new lunch trays, touch screen monitors, and updating and replacing other kitchen equipment.  Thank you Mrs. Phelps for making sure our JCS kitchens are safe and efficient.
