Comets! Our “One Comet Library” all-access library that gives all the students in our district access to the materials of all 3 school libraries and the Jonesville District Library is up and running. Each student will be given a card number that will enable them to check one item out at a time from JDL in addition to what they check out at their school. The JDL books that are checked out will be available at their school. The JDL will not have access to student information.

Families are also welcome to visit JDL and check materials out at their location as well.

"One Comet Library '' adds new access to items such as 57 STEM/STEAM kits, 26 Wonderbooks and over 20,500 fiction and nonfiction E-books through Overdrive.

It also more than triples our access to the following literacy resources for your child/children:

Picture books

Leveled readers

Juvenile fiction and nonfiction chapter books

Young adult fiction and nonfiction books

Adult titles

Playaway audio books that can be read alongside their print counterparts

28,000 titles total!

To make this happen, Jonesville District Library has waived any late fees and their parental signature requirement. However, students and their parents/guardians will be responsible for any lost items, just as they are here at school.

Most items will have a two week loan period (STEM/STEAM kits and new videos have a 1 week loan period), and will be automatically renewed for another two weeks if not returned.  A cost will be assigned to the item on the second late notice.

JCS would like to thank the Jonesville Lions Club for its generous donation toward this project. We would also like to thank our own Linda Quiggle and the JDL’s Laura Orlowski for having the vision and putting the effort into making this possible for our community.
