Athletic update:
The varsity volleyball Quad at Onsted for today has been canceled due to water/sewer issues in Onsted.

Both of the Jonesville Cross Country teams qualified for the State Finals!. The last time this happened was in 1997! Coach Jake Snyder was fresh out of college, and was the assistant coach to Dennis Peacock. Fast forward to 2024- Coach Snyder and assistant coach Chad Copp guided BOTH teams to the State Finals!
The Comet ladies had the lowest pack time (1-5 runners) by over a minute to key their 3rd place finish. The top 3 teams advance from the Regional to the State Finals. Freshman Brynleigh Griffiths ran 21:00, placing 9th out of the 12 teams and 82 runners competing. She was All-Region and medaled. Sophomore Kiera Knight was 20th, running 21:40. Sophomore Kendahl Drake ran 21:43, good for 22nd. Sophomore Joleane Gulledge ran 22:14, placing 29th. Mia Langhann, also a sophomore, continued with another big PR to place 39th with a 22:51 time, completing the scoring.
The Comet boys also placed 3rd, advancing to the State Finals. Led by sophomore Caleb Blonde and Junior Nick Fowler’s 4th and 5th place finish, both earning All-Region. Caleb ran 16:09, and Nick ran 16:23. Sophomore Collin Fucile and freshman Ashton Potwin also finished together, placing 24th (17:35), and 25th (17:40). Senior Zachary Childress ran 18:05, placing 36th. At the end of the meet Jonesville was tied with Brooklyn Colombia Central. The scoring then went to the 6th man. Freshman Jacob Gray placed 43rd (18:51), 4 places ahead of Colombia Central’s 6th man to lock the Comets in at 3rd place. Columbia Central will also advance to the Finals, as they had 4 runners in the top 20, and placed 4th.
The Comets will run this Saturday at MIS for the State Finals. More details to follow.
