"Game Night"

My journey through making this still life was mostly just time consuming, and struggling to stay focused. The attention to detail took a lot of time, however I took enjoyment bringing this piece to life. My favorite part of this process was created the highlights with a slight erase. Each highlight helps the piece a be a complete visual of real life. Through this process of still life I have learned the major importance of the cast light that determines the shade spots and where the lightest parts of the drawing should be. Matching the shadows and lighting was a little bit difficult for me, although I am altogether very proud of my piece. In the future I would have just left the chess piece by itself to display the full effect of the piece.
